 SAS Molly The Kitten DAY 300 23rd March, I will find that mint under the TV, Ok I found mummy's imperial mints today, and boy did I have fun, getting into the bag and playing football with them, though I have to say when it went under the TV, I was not a happy kitty, you name it I tried to get to it.



SAS Molly The Kitten DAY 301 24th March, checklist, yes toys all here, it is very important to do a daily count of my toys, and if I cannot find them all I feel it is my duty to wake mummy up to let her know.

Even though my body is changing, my mummy calls it growing up, I can still hide and fit in places you would think I could not, playing is a big part of my life, and I feel it is my duty to try and find places mummy cannot see me, just to give her that sinking feeling, while she tries to find me, I love when mummy has that high pitch voice of panic when I can be no where to be found
SAS Molly The Kitten DAY 303 26th March, I think sometimes mummy forgets I am still a baby, even though my body has seemed to have grown a little bit longer, but I still want to play all the silly games that I have always done, though sometimes I do get a little stuck haaa

Sound Facts
Cat’s ears have more than a dozen muscles to turn 180 degrees, and focus on distance sounds and can locate its position and range.  Hearing at the lower limit it’s much the same as human, at the higher limit it is far higher, more than two octaves.  A different sounds worlds than humans (that’s why sometimes your cat will jump in the air, as if a bomb has gone off)  Cats hearing responds, better to a woman’s and children, rather than men, this can explain why cats suddenly sit up and pay attention (or in Molly’s case when her nanny comes in, as she know treats will not be that far away)  Cats the same as dogs can sense a storm coming.  Cats like a quiet life and become disturbed with loud sounds.

SAS Molly The Kitten DAY 314 6th April, well it is that time of month again to dea flea Molly, lets just say she knows what is coming, and then spends the day sulking, well as much as she can with extra treats in her mouth
There are a variety natural and chemical  flea prevention  available. Discuss a flea preventative treatment with your vet. DO NOT use a treatment made for dogs on a cat. Some chemicals used in flea treatments for dogs are toxic to cats. Treating your all of your pets ensures that none of them will be bringing fleas into your home and that fleas will not be transferred to your pets.  Once fleas get in your home, they love to get into the carpet and on your upholstered furniture. Vacuuming can remove adult fleas and flea eggs from your flooring and furniture.  Use high heat settings to machine wash and then dry your cat’s bedding. The heat can kill any fleas that have gotten onto the cat’s bed or blankets.

SAS Molly The Kitten DAY 315 7th April, really mummy, you hung me on the door knob, what's that all about? I am sure internorm did not have in mind when they gave you the bag LOL, but had great fun in it



“Let the cat out of the bag” means to reveal a secret or disclose facts that were previously hidden. It can also be used to refer to someone who is a “blabbermouth.” The saying provides quite the visual – a cat, playing the part of the “secret,” sprinting out of the “bag,” playing the role of where the secret was hiding. Much like a cat that was once trapped in a bag, once that secret is out, it’s never going to go back into that bag again. Or in Molly case, she is more than happy to stay in the bag.
SAS Molly The Kitten DAY 316 8th April, well its been a hard day, playing with all my toys, had lots of fun with Mr Duck.  Did you know that when cats have a fall they are more likely to injure their lower jaw than their backs or legs as they land.


  
SAS Molly The Kitten DAY 317 9th April, I am not sure why mom always keeps one eye on me when I am sitting at the fire, I know it is not real, and ok I know and then, have the tendency to pull the odd log out, but I feel that is my job to do such things. DID you know Cats eyes are not so good at close ups, they work best 7 foot to 20 foot away.  They have 280 degree vision. Bit like my mummy.

Species of Cats Are There?  Answer; there are currently thirty-six recognized species of wild cat, although this number changes from time to time, especially now that scientists are using DNA to update species classifications. Not quite sure which one Molly falls under The Nutter species maybe.

 It is said that cats have a poor sense of smell; I have to agree with this, Molly can have a treat right under her nose and miss it. Also did you know Rain Cats and Dogs, The phrase is supposed to have originated in England in the 17th century when city streets were filthy and heavy rain would occasionally carry along dead animals.  The idea that seeing dead cats and dogs floating by in storms would cause people to coin this phrase is just about believable. People may not have actually thought the animals had come from the sky, but might have made up the phrase to suit the occasion.

Cats have nine lives; did you ever wonder why people say they do? This is the story. A very hungry cat entered a house one day and found a plate of nine fish that were going to be eaten for dinner by the nine starving children who lived there. The cat was feeling a little selfish that day and ate up all of the fish in nine quick bites. With no food on the table, the nine starving children died of hunger the very next day, along with the cat that died from eating WAY too much. Curiosity killed the cat' is a proverb or phrase that warns against unnecessary experimentation or investigation which might lead to bad consequences. It means that being inquisitive can result into hazardous situations.  I know what they mean, after molly tied to chew threw an electrical cable

Look what the Cat dragged in Cats is notorious for bringing home dead mice, birds, rats to their owners. Their way of contributing to the household. "Look what the cat dragged in" literally refers to the cat bringing home a dead animal.  Or in Molly case, something she has dragged from the kitchen

Poor little molly has been ill all night , so have her booked in the vet at 5pm Friday,  there is nothing worse than seeing an animal been so sick and nothing you can do but watch

I think there are no words when you have to leave your baby cat at the vets, they are going to do an x-ray, Intestinal Obstruction may be problem which if the x ray shows this, they will operate on her tonight, they have given her antibiotic and pain killers and anti sickness drugs
  
today the vet is still not ready to operate as there are signs of inflammation of the pancreas, so has sent molly home until Monday where another x-ray will be done to see if the mass has moved if not then it will mean an operation. Molly is a little drugged out a the moment but has enjoyed drinking out of the bath and the sink, lets just say if there is a tape, the water is running, I also have some small syringes to apply small amounts of wet food, but if she anything like her mummy she will eat no mater how she feels once the drugs have worn off, just have one very little dopey cat,  they thought it would be best i giver her 48 hour care while she is so ill and lots of drugs, until the next x-ray on Monday to decide is she will have an opp
SAS Molly The Kitten DAY 585, 4th Jan, well molly and I spent a nice night sleeping in the bathroom, OK molly had a nice night sleeping in the bathroom, she is eating 2 teaspoons of food every hour now, still no movement of the foreign part. She Is getting regular tummy massages, have to say she does in joy her pate pill (thank god for pate the best way to get any drugs down an animal) just another 24 hours to get through before she can have her 3rd x-ray to see if has moved and what type of operation, molly sitting watching me on the computer
SAS Molly The Kitten DAY 586, 5th Jan,Update, Molly was a little ill through the night, so both sat up and watch tv all night, took her to the vet first thing this morning, she will be having another x-ray to see if the mass has moved, will know later on today which will be the next step, did warn them she was very grumpy, so i think this time they may have to drug her for the x-ray, lets just say not a happy kitty, poor little thing, keeps looking up at me to say Mummy why is this happening to me, and rub my tummy now.  Well the vet has just called, it is what i thought she will have to a full operation, which they are going to do now, the mass has not moved and also it seems she has also swallowed something else which is tangled up in her stomach, well that will teach me to adopt feral cat, so just will have to wait till phone call tonight to see how it went.  
just had a call from the vet molly has come through the opp, but they have been very honest, and said that the next 48 hours are critical, as she had to have 2 incisions in the large intestine colon, and one in the incision in the stomach, which in cats can be very dangerous after an opp re her pancreas and kidney. she is on IV and pain killers antibiotic, to try and combat all the infection after such a major operation. so if she gets through I should be able to pick her up on wednesday
SAS Molly The Kitten DAY 587, 6th Jan,Well it seems Sas Molly the Kitten has lived up to her name, just been to vet to check on her and was allowed to go and see her, poor thing has  a drip still in her arm and walking like a drunken sailor.  Kerry the vet nurse said she was a little worried as Molly had not passed any urine, so I had a little word in Molly ear to pee- Kerry was laughing then Molly flopped over to the tray, fell in it a few times, BUT then sat up and peed (thats me girl) the next step is to see if she will eat they will try this around 2pm, but knowing Molly she will have her knife and forks ready. This was the cotton found from her throat to her lower intestine

I just wanted to take this time to thank everyone for all their kind fb comments and emails i have had, you have all been like a big hug around my heart thank you
Molly returned back from the vets after her operation within 10 mins molly was walking around the halls checking out her beds and hiding places, though at the moment she has not realised the top of the wardrobe has been sealed off. Then went to her litter tray, sat bolt up and had a good long pee, with a sigh of relief, to say I am home.    
Though molly has not passed any stools in the last six days, I feel once she has settle in everything will go back to normal, well that’s the plan, after having a small snack, molly rolled over to flash me her very long scare to say look mummy see what is on my tummy.

Even though she had a massive surgery on my intestine and stomach, he pooped her head up and noticed a pigeon, then did her funny little growl, as to say “hay I am back this is my manner”

Molly likes to keep doing little head butt kissed to my lips, as to reassure both of us I think.

Molly has decide to play with the water dripping in the sink, I think she may have a headache or just to hot, as now she is putting her head under the water then comes over to give me a nice wet head butt

Opps it seems molly has just found out she cannot get on top of the wardrobe, let’s just say her face expression “WTH” is going on here mom?

Well it’s been 90mins since molly has been  home, and I got my first purr, which just shows how fast animals can forgive you, even though you left them at the vet for two and half days.

I have worked out if you speak to molly in a baby voice, she will roll over to flash her shaved tummy at you, and also allows you to do gentle kisses all over her tummy, though she will keep one eye on you just in case you touch her scare.

Even though I know she is home safe with me, you find yourself with wears like a bat, zoning on every little noise she makes, every 15 mins I check on her, and molly gives me the look of Oh mom, leave me alone.  Mind you molly hearing has also doubled every little sound makes her jump, it seemed camping out at the vets with other cats and dogs, has but her on high alert.  Though molly is ore than happy to let her mom fetch her everything.

3.30pm molly found a new way to drink water out of the bowl, by placing her paw in it, swirling it around then drinking it, then shaking her paw so the excess water flies every where, this seems to amaze her not quite sure about the wallpaper though.

Well time for her snack, I am working on every one hour she gets teaspoon of food.

Molly went to one of the window ledge she loves, and realised that too had been sealed off as it was above the cat litter tray, OMG you would have thought it was the end of the world, molly keeps looking up where she would normal jump up to then look sat me to say “mummy why? Would you do this to me! I know this is going to lead to a mega kitty sulk.

You would think by now that molly would be having cat nap, oh no, she is non stop on the move, having the odd turrets moments with the birds outside, still no stools movement from her, I am happy she is peeing which means her kidneys are ok.

Well it has now been 12 hours non stop checking that all is ok in her manner, then went to her hammock and just fell asleep she looks so small and helpless, it is bliss to see her sleep, I may now catch 20 winks as well.

The night seemed to go on for ever molly has now moved in to the bathroom, she feels safe her, so I am now camping out with her, checking on her every 30 mins, I had a terrible nightmare, I was walking down the street trying to get her to the vet all her intestine where trying to come out, as I woke up the first thing I did was check her tummy, my god it seemed so real. And there she was fast asleep with her large fluffy tail wrapped around her body.

SAS Molly The Kitten DAY 589, 8th Jan, well it seem nanny is molly new hero spends 14 hours with her while i am at work, gets lots of hugs and catnaps - which they both do. then i get home and have to give her, her pills, so i am the bad mummy, and as she is only allowed one treat, yes you guest right nanny gives her, i  am so in her bad books ha ha

SAS Molly The Kitten DAY 590, 9th Jan,molly doing well, thought going to book an appointment with the vet Monday, as there is a big lump at the top of her scar and she has gone very quiet, and hiding in the her igloo box, with a very sad look at me to say mummy, my tummy is so sore
but she is eating better now, has 2 oz's every 90 mins 
first day of antibiotics, did the old trick of pate, 1st small ball to get her taste buds going, and 2nd ball with the pill in, 3rd ball as a treat, well now the pill gone down done, molly giving me the big kitten look, fed me mummy, as I have had to restricted her feeding, you can imagine the looks I am getting on molly, and also I am having to mash her food, to the consistency of baby food, lets just say not the most appetising looking food.

Still no stool movement, who would have thought, this would be such a big concern.


Well off to work, poor mollies nanny had to get up 6am each morning, to come over and baby sits her for 12 hours, while I am at work. Trust me I could have so stayed at home % 3 hours sleep through the night, my mother texed me through the day with a report on what molly had been up to, came home, to find molly and her nanny had a nice day of catnaps for them both, but it was nice to come home to a big purr of molly, she had her snack of me, then walked off in a sulk (not allowed any cat treats for a while) 
SAS Molly The Kitten DAY 591, 10th Jan, Poor moly this morning she woke me up at 5am to get a hug and kiss, then i had to give her her pill, well lets just say after a 2 min fight trying the get the pill down her throat there was no lovin for me, Molly gone back not to passing stools, i swear she is doing it to put in me an early grave
 well its day three, and like humans, the post opp depression has set in, emotions all over the place from purrs to nothing, from kissed to biting my face. And yes still no stools movement, when did my life circle around stool moment?

Molly is also feeling the withdrawal of  painkillers, feeling very low and sore, seems its time to hid in her igloo bed, who would have thought I would miss the sas molly jumping out on me, or flying of the top of doors.  Her poor emotions are all over the place, and her tummy is now staring to hurt her, while it is healing, so every hour through the night, I am gentle rubbing her tummy and giving butterfly kisses.

5am molly deicide it was be nice to visit me, how did I know that, well woke up with her very large fluffy tail in my mouth, as I have asthma you can imagine what happened next, who knew a mouth full of fluffy tail would bring on a small asthma attack  hee-hee.

Then I had my normal head butt kiss, then molly ears went down, eyes became large like a tiger, I sat up very quickly, as I know what was coming next but I was too late, her teeth where stuck in my eyebrow and her nails where i my face (note to self, cut mollies nails) this is when you know you have a ninja cat, claws like razor blades and actions so fast.  Yep you guessed still no stools, I mean is it too much to ask for one little poo?

well it seems molly and her nanny had yet another great day, some small treats, and lots of cat naps, then mummy gets home after 14 hour day, molly was so happy to see me, then she realised it was time for her pill, the happiness soon faded away, molly has so got over wanting pate, she has worked out what is going one, and is so not having it, so it become a war of wills who will take the pill and who will try and get the pill down, good news mummy won, which lead to a mega kitty sulk of  molly.

5am like a little trooper molly passed her first stool, but became very poorly after, sat In the corner of the bathroom, head down, eyes glazed over, as if it was the end of the world.  Then 6am came, she bounced back to a purring loving cat. I am always amazed with animals how one min they make you think they will not get through the nigh to the next minute they want their treats and cuddles

SAS Molly The Kitten DAY 594, 13th Jan, Mummy said great news, i mean i only had a poo, but she seems happy about, but it seems i am still to go the vet tonight, still gutted still not allowed meaty treats
nanny said that molly was bright and perky; she chased a bird from window to window, then flopped into her bed and fell asleep. Back to no poo, OMG there I was thinking her bowels were up and running and it seems they have gone back on strike.

molly nanny told me she had been quite all day, briefly watching the birds, but sleeps on various beds she has around the house. 4pm found her asleep in her igloo, so held her paw while she slept

sometimes you hear bad press re facebook, but throughout Mollies   surgery and getting better there have been so many kind people sending their wishes this is just a small example 
ok had a call, molly had 3 x-rays, and antibiotics, pain killers, anti sickness, the vet says she does not want to rush into an operation as it would be a major one if she does going to see how she goes through the night then we will go from there, the vet asked is she moody, i said she must be getting better as she has pmt every 10 days so lets hope she is a tough old boot like her mummy and thinks SOD this I'm getting better so i can drive my mum nuts

I think there are no words when you have to leave your baby cat at the vets, they are going to do an x-ray, Intestinal Obstruction may be problem which if the x ray shows this, they will operate on her tonight, just have to wait for the phone call now to see what the next stage of action is

Tony  Know how you feel Mand, just before christmas one of mine was sort of gagging kept swallowing but was obviously in pain and couldn't really swallow. had to have him knocked out x-rays etc couldn't actually find anything wrong with him so £300 odd quid later he lost his voice for a couple of days but is right as rain now. so fingers crossed for Molly.x   Deborah  Oh gosh mandy what's happened to molly hope she's ok x

Mandy  it was 16 inches of cotton she must have got hold of it out of my sewing box, they think she started to eat it, then did not want to but by then the stomach had taken over and pulled it in, then it caught under the back of her tongue so it could not pass through the body the vet says 1 in 1000 this could happen, only molly would do such a thing, Just had a call from the vet molly has come through the opp, but they have been very honest, and said that the next 48 hours are critical, as she had to have 2 incisions in the large intestine colon, and one in the incision in the stomach, which in cats can be very dangerous after an opp re her pancreas and kidney. she is on IV and pain killers antibiotic, to try and combat all the infection after such a major operation. so if she gets through I should be able to pick her up on Wednesday

I cannot believe I have had Molly for 643 days, to be honest after having a male cat for 18 years, it has been a shock having a female cat, the moods swings are mental and the bad temper has been something I have never had with a male cat, though Molly is part of the family, I still cannot get used to her moods one minute all happy and purring the next you can feel her teeth in your skin, was once asked does it fill the hole you have once you lose a cat, I have to be honest, you can NEVER replace a cat with another, it just does not work that way, and having a breed you have never had before takes a lot of hard work, Molly does make me smile and the things she gets up to, but I still miss my Tiga, who was so calm and just took things as they came, never bite, never clawed unlike Sas Molly
